District 4 Monroe County commissioner George Emami revealed on Tuesday, Feb. 20 that he had a promising meeting earlier this month with a Royston-based internet service provider who expressed interest in expanding into Monroe County.
Emami and county commission chairman Greg Tapley met with Paladin Wireless founder Steve Fortmann on Feb. 7 to discuss possible solutions to the county’s ongoing internet coverage and availability shortcomings. Emami briefly updated about a dozen citizens in attendance on the meeting at Paladin’s office during the second ever meeting of the commissioners’ newly-created High Speed Internet Expansion Committee on Feb. 20.
